Enroll today in a 14-week program designed to expand your HR knowledge and skills and prepare you for the Professional in Human Resources (PHR ®) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR ®) certification exams.
We offer this program in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The curriculum covers the newly updated 2010 HRCI body of knowledge which develops competencies and decision-making skills demanded of the profession.
The next Tuesday evening program begins August 31 and meets from 6-9:30 pm. The class will meet at Geico Headquarters in North Dallas. The cost of the course is $1150 and includes classroom instruction and SHRM Learning System materials.
Due to popular demand, PDI is providing a second offering of the PHR/SPHR test preparation program on alternate Saturdays from 9am to 4pm beginning September 11. The class will meet at the UNT South Dallas campus. The cost of the course is $1150 and includes class instruction and SHRM Learning System materials.

Dr. Ledgerwood is director of the SHRM certification program at the University of North Texas in Denton. She is past president of the Southern Management Association and the Southwest Academy of Management and has served on two national SHRM committees. She was recently named an UNT Honors Professor and has won more than a dozen teaching awards. She was voted HR Professional of the Year in 2004.
Ms. Starnes is a Legal Department Administrator at Centex Corporation where she manages and directs the administrative functions of the Legal Department. With more than 15 years of experience in HR capacities, she's been involved in recruiting and training, benefits administration, policy and procedure development, among others. Ms. Starnes has chaired the Human Resources section and served on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Chapter Association of Legal Administrators. She also earned her MBA from Texas Woman's University.
Barbara E. Hoover, SPHR, has extensive Human Resources experience in the hospitality industry including oversight of the "people" function in 28 business units from coast to coast, all diverse and some unionized. She has taught the SHRM Learning System for five years, and is an instructor for the Dallas HR Association HR Certification Study Group, specifically facilitating the Introduction to the Certification Process, and Strategic Management.
